From Krissy M

My co-worker friend, Krissy was on vacay in Hawaii and saw a group of people building this awesome 4-foot tall sand castle. She told them a little of our story, and asked if they would write Whitney's name on their sand castle. How nice of those people!! Thank you all, its beautiful!!

From Megan M

One of my sweet online mommy friends went on a hike a few weeks ago and took this picture for a bunch of us bably loss mommas.  Megan's little boy is Sammy, and he also had Triploidy, so I have a very special connection to her.  These pictures are just beautiful.  It both warms and breaks my heart to see Whitney's name surrounded by so many other angel babies... there are just so many of them.  But knowing that they are all in heaven together, and we will see them again some day makes me smile.  Thank-you so much for these photos, friend!

100th Post GIVEAWAY!!!

This post marks our 100th post on Whitney's blog.  When Sean wrote the very first post on here nearly a year ago, neither one of us had any idea how our journey would play out.  We had no idea how many people would love on us, pray for us and shed tears with us.  We are blessed beyond our imagination by all of you who continue to love and encourage us.

We had no idea what meeting our daughter would look like... would we get to hold her?  Who would she look like?  When would she come?  Again, we were blown away by God's timing, His provision and of course, His peace that passes all understanding.

We are humbled by how much we have learned and are continuing to learn on this journey.  We understand more than ever what joy--true joy, is.  We've gained insight into the unfathomable sacrificial love that God wants to lavish upon each and every one of us, and are completely humbled by that realization.  We were challenged to literally put 'what we preach into action' and in the end, can say that we held true to our deepest convictions of life.

This isn't a farewell post... no, not at all!  We know that this journey is far from over.  This is more of a "THANK-YOU, Let's celebrate!" type of post.  So... in honor of our 100th post, I'm having a give away!!  Yay!  Who doesn't like free stuff, right?!?!??  Here's what you could win:

 Here's the Giveaway Goodies:

"I Will Carry You" book, by Angie Smith
"Angel Love" Willow Tree figurine
"HOPE" word art

P1020888
I chose to give away this book because it is a beautiful depiction of what it means to carry to term.  I think that anyone would gain fantastic insight from reading this book, and the way that Angie pens her story of carrying her daughter, Audrey Caroline is so beautiful, real and heart-felt.

P1020883

I chose the Willow Tree figurine for several reason... one, the title of it is "Angel Love."  Sometimes, babies who pass away are called "angel babies."  And while I don't believe that Whitney is now an angel, its still kinda fitting.  The second reason I fell in love with this little lady is the curly hair.  Whitney had the tiniest rivets of curls all over her precious head... she would have definitely had curly hair, just like me.  :-)

Finally, I LOVED this little HOPE word art.  Its small and just the right size to sit on your desk, bedside table, or anywhere else you need something pretty.  My friend, Kaylan gave us a beautiful piece of word art that spelled Whitney's name out in pictures.  I LOVE it... it hangs above our piano in the main room.  And this reminds me of that.  :-)

From Shannon M

Whit Lollipops
My friend, Shannon sent me this great picture for Whitney's name gallery!!  Isn't it just the *sweetest* thing you've ever seen!?  (Haha, pun intended.)  Shannon works at a candy store and had been waiting until they got all the letters she needed to spell Whit's name out in lollipops!!  Thank you so much Shannon!  I LOVE it!  Shannon and I went to the same high school, and she was one of my sister, Megan's best friends.  We got to travel all over Europe together one summer, when she joined us on a Hampton family European vacation extravaganza!  :-)  Thanks again for this picture, Shannon!

Sarah Hays

My friend, Sarah is a teacher. Sarah and I have been friends since elementary school, and we grew up in youth group together.  Some of my fondest memories of being Jr. High age involve spending time with Sarah and our other HPCC youth friends (Matt, Meagan, Summer, Jonathan)... playing mud football on Superbowl Sunday, playing laser tag and going to OCC's Get-A-Way, back in the day!  :-)  Sarah sent me this picture of the name tag she made for one of her students... here is what Sarah wrote to me when she sent this picture:

Shey,
I have a Whitney in my 1st hour this year. I make name tags for their desks...here is the one I made for the Whitney I will have, but I must say...I only thought of your Whitney. I will think of her everyday.

Thank-you so much for sending me this picture and letting me know you are thinking of us!! Love you, friend!!

From Aunt Meg & Girls

Washington Island
My sister took this sweet picture of her girls, Emmalia and Kaira while they were on vacation on Washington Island in Wisconsin this summer.  Do you see Whitney's name by the smiling pink starfish?  Oh, how we all wish Whitney was there to play in the middle of them! We miss you, sweet girl!!!

Helping A Friend- Extra Link

Butterfly

Yesterday I came across a great list of suggestions on how to help a friend who has had a miscarriage.  It is on Melissa's blog at "Its Almost Naptime!"  She had a guest blogger post some excellent suggestions on how to help a friend who has had a miscarriage.    I know many, many people who have had a miscarriage-- almost one in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, so chances are you, you know someone too.  Instead of reinventing the wheel on this one, I thought I'd just post a link.  So head on over to "It's Almost Naptime" and bookmark this entry.  Some excellent suggestions on how to help a friend.
